Employment and workforce

Our experience
We supported the Commonwealth to review its employment and skills demand forecasting products, consulting potential users across the Commonwealth and state skills authorities, assessing model options from time-series and macro-econometric approaches through to machine learning, and recommending how to operationalise them.
We build bespoke workforce models measuring demand, supply and projected gaps. That has included novel estimates of the size and composition of a state's workforce using job vacancy data, workforce shortage analysis for disability scheme and social services clients, and experimental employment and shortage indicators for the Commonwealth.

Our experience
We have supported a Commonwealth First Nations health division on identifying need and capacity for specific programs. Work across other divisions has frequently involved First Nations health and datasets, including outbreaks and vaccine distribution for regional and remote Australia.

Our experience
We have supported a state government across successive business cases for domestic, family and sexual violence reform — mapping the service system and its gaps, estimating the fiscal and economic cost of violence across police, justice, housing, child protection, health and education, and shortlisting around 100 proposed reforms into costed low, medium and high funding scenarios.
That work included cost-benefit analysis, benchmarking against other jurisdictions, and a framework for tracking whether the investment delivers. Our social services work combines analytical capability with the engagement skills needed in complex multi-agency environments.
